In recent years Anja’s profile as a producer, often in collaboration with studio partners such as Sebo K and Paul Brtschitsch, has been steadily on the rise. With a string of releases on Mobilee as well as remixes for labels such as Dessous, Karmarouge, Tsuba and Immigrant, her music combines loopy techno with a distinctly melodic bent, while her recent 12” ‘Loop Der Mer’ pushes in a deeper, housier direction. Her debut solo album, Beyond the Valley, confirms her artistic arrival with 10 rich, diverse tracks that range from the anxiety-ridden to the blissed-out. More than just a collection of dance-floor cuts, Beyond the Valley boasts a warm, enfolding arc that draws listeners in no matter the context: It’s Anja at her most intimate.

A pan-pot is a simple, workaday knob, given to side-to-side flip-flopping and not much else. Pan-Pot, on the other hand, are a brilliantly multidimensional Berlin duo currently twisting house and techno fans into rapturous fits. In just a few short years, Pan-Pot —the duo comprised of Tassilo Ippenberger and Thomas Benedix—have become a central presence in electronic dance music’s most advanced sectors. Their rise parallels that of their home label mobilee, coming at a time when established categories are breaking down and accepted notions of “minimal” (please) are giving way to an unprecedented degree of dynamism on demanding dancefloors. Another mobilee signee, Marco Resmann, was a founding member of the group, but has since left to concentrate on his solo work.

Seattle producer Bruno Pronsato (aka Steven Ford) took several giant steps in 2005 toward the peak of the experimental techno mountain. Both on vinyl and onstage, Pronsato kept up a hectic pace of production and performance, catalyzing listeners and crowds in Germany, Switzerland, Turkey, Mexico, throughout the United States, and a triumphant set at Montreal’s Mutek festival. Twelve-inches on esteemed labels like Orac, Musique RisquŽe, Milnor Modern, Philpot, and Telegraph further elevated his stature and built his international fan base.

Label owner of Alphahouse Records, accomplished producer, and jetsetting DJ, Butane (Andrew Rasse) hails from the Midwestern United States, the birthplace of many great electronic music acts. His infamous Alphahouse monthly party put St. Louis on the current worldwide techno map, and his record label is regarded as one of the premier minimal techno/house labels in North America. As a music producer, his tracks have been featured on some of the worlds most forward-thinking underground labels.
